Time for Freddy’s

In Hatfield, PA a new chain restaurant has opened that gave a new outlook on fast food. ‘Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers’ is a drive thru and sit down restaurant with a clean appearance that is relatively cheap and well tasting food. As Kayla Hinkle went and said the “inside was very loud, and very busy.” A downside was the size of the parking lot. The service is interesting as it’s a mix between a line for ice cream and a line to wait for your food. Each customer is given a number.

The restaurant stays open relatively late at night; closing time is 10:30 p.m. during the week and on Friday and Saturday it’s 11:00 p.m. When asked in a phone interview, the general manager said “The grand opening was January 28, 2020. The restaurant was founded in 2002 in Kansas.” The Manager also said, “More people order burgers which the restaurant is known for. However, a significant amount of people order sandwiches too.”  An interesting point is that all burgers are made to order and they are never frozen.

Overall, the restaurant has a clean appearance; aside from the very busy line, the service was good. The french fries are very thin and seasoned. The burgers and hot dogs are not greasy, but are quite thin in size.

The portion sizes are average, as well as having a very open floor plan.
