Making the Rounds on Moon: Strategy Guide

To a new, inexperienced zombies player, surviving past round 20 seems like a dream. This proves particularly true when you throw this noob into a complex, close-quarters zombies map such as Moon. As the most innovative map of its time, Moon boasts many unique features which require players to adapt their playstyle in order to succeed. In this guide, I will be discussing my strategy for achieving high rounds on Moon along with some tricks I have picked up from experience. Spawning in Area 51 with a measly pistol and little ammunition, it is common for players to assume they must immediately travel to the Moon via the teleporter. However, I recommend training the zombies found at Area 51 and using your little ammunition and grenades to build up points before teleporting.

Depending on what perk spawn at Area 51, you can even use these points to buy Juggernog on round one! But beware, the zombies and hellhounds which spawn at Area 51 are unforgiving and can easily trap you, which is why I recommend new players practice training around the area’s perimeter to hone their skills. Upon arriving at the moon, do not throw grenades! Grenades can break the windows of the indoor areas resulting in decompressions which require players to wear the P.E.S. indoors. It does not matter whether you take tunnel 6 or 11 to the power switch, as both cost roughly the same number of points to open. After activating the power and artificial gravity, make your way to the Biodome. I recommend training zombies in the Biodome, as the large open space allows you to avoid getting cornered and killed. As far as weapons, the VMP pack-a-punched into the Impaler, combined with the deadwire ability, will allow you to kill zombies even after the gun becomes ineffective. This weapon can be found just outside of the Biodome, making it easily accessible if you happen to run low on ammunition. The wonder weapon on Moon, the Zap Guns, are also highly recommended. Their infinite damage, high ammo count, and ability to combine into the Wave Guns make them your most effective tool for decimating zombies.

When it comes to perks, I would recommend purchasing Juggernog, Speed Cola, Stamin-Up, and Widow’s Wine. The Gersch Device, which can be found in the mystery box, is also extremely helpful if you are ever in a tricky situation. These recommendations, along with continuous practice and experience, will surely help you elevate your skill on the Call of Duty Zombies map Moon. Stay posted for more zombies guides!
