“Good morning Pennridge!”, are the words the student body hears every morning in first period as the student news is played. “The Daily Ramble” is based in the media production class that students in 11th and 12th grade can take here at Pennridge. It consists of daily announcements, student news, and upcoming events. The film production teacher, Mr. Friedman, runs The Ramble and shows the kids the ropes. The cast and production, this season, consists of the following students: Gianna Ragomo, Rudra Bengali, Lily Lawless, Olivia Stolarski, Caleb Lawrence, Jayson Flamer, Amanda Baranowski, Emily Amsden, Kera Dam, Conrad Frisch, Liv Lowery, Luke Yoder, & Zach Jacobson. With 10 seasons of the show thus far, it’s safe to say this creative outlet for Pennridge students is enjoyed by the staff and student body. As the pandemic took a toll on numerous things this past year it has also somewhat affected The Ramble. We spoke to Luke Yoder, to talk to him about the environment of the show and how the cast has been handling any changes. When asked if The Ramble has been different due to Covid he replied, “Nothing fundamentally. The only thing that really changed was the periods of time where we would have to wear a mask on set.” Looking back at past seasons overall the content is still the same amid the current state of the world. Luke Yoder’s main role is the sports events and news since he particularly enjoys covering that topic, but also says he has no issue being thrown into another role if need be. He commented on the social differences this year than in past seasons by stating, “You don’t really have that chemistry and all”. He went on to say everything is normally very relaxed when creating The Ramble, but during the hybrid days at the beginning of this year, there was little interaction. When Pennridge resumed the usual 5-day schedule, it eased the bridge between the students. The cast can now create a better bond with seeing each other more. Luke Yoder is now in his second year of The Ramble and says he feels he has improved from the past year. Although this year is slightly different than before, they still take pride in the episodes they have aired.
