Nourish Your Body With Food From Nourish

Oliva Hangey with her parfaits

When looking for a good meal, local restaurants are always the way to go. This week, we went to Nourish Kitchen and Catering, a cafe located on West Market Street in Perkasie. With 5/5 stars on Facebook and Restaurant Guru, Nourish is one of the town’s favorites. It opened in April of 2019, so it has been around for three years. They offer dine-in and curbside pickup services. Their focus is on clean, fresh, and quality food. They also give affordable prices for their catering and meals ensuring that everyone can enjoy their famous chicken salad or a delicious scone.
Our group stopped by for lunch to see what Nourish had to offer.

The first item we were interested in trying was the chicken salad. It looked great, with craisins mixed in. We picked up a container of it as well as a chicken salad sandwich on a brioche roll. “The bun was fresh, and the chicken salad was STUPENDOUS!”, says senior Paige Swartley. Considering the chicken salad is one of Nourish’s most popular items, it lived up to its reputation. It’s something you do not want to miss. Senior Olivia Hangey said, “The chicken salad sandwich Paige had looked really good.” Their menu offered much more than just chicken salad though. We picked up two yogurt parfaits, a mixed berry one and a strawberry one. For only four dollars, we got a large cup of yogurt with berries, as seen in the picture, as well as a small container with granola. It was filling, healthy, and delicious. “I loved the freshness”, Olivia Hangey exclaimed. Freshness was a common word we were using to describe the food at Nourish. Unlike some cafes or restaurants, we could tell that these were not just thrown in a microwave. The price was lower than many chain restaurants as well. The last item we purchased during our trip was the strawberry basil scone. We loved how there was so much to choose from ranging from savory to sweet.

Nourish Kitchen and Catering cares about their customers and community. We talked to Christine, one of the owners. She told us about a few times they catered to the community, including here at Pennridge. One of these events included a lunch for the Pennridge High School teachers. “We were aware there were many dietary needs like vegan, gluten-free, and other allergies but we were able to accommodate everyone and keep a good budget”, said Christine. For teacher appreciation week, Pennridge Central and South Middle School also got catering. As a small business, it is good to support the community and to have the support of the community. Christine also told us that she developed the famous chicken salad herself, and she is pretty proud of it, as she should be.

If you want to get Nourish catering at any event, you can find the catering menu on Instagram or Facebook and then give them a call. To buy any of these delicious products for yourself, you can check their hours online and stop in.
