Looking Through the Lens of Ms. Moos

Pennridge art teacher Sarah Moos is a well-credited photographer and artist. She teaches Introduction to Art, Digital Design, Art and Design, Sculpture, Drawing and Painting, Photo 1 and 2, AP Art, and Advanced Art. Moos has always had a passion for art. She took as many art classes as she could throughout her schooling but it wasn’t until college that she knew she wanted to pursue art. Moos attended Rowan University for her undergraduate degree. She then attended the University of The Arts for her graduate degree. Pennridge was her top choice when choosing a school to teach, due to their vast art and photography programs. For the 15 years, she has been a part of the school; she has helped make the world a better place with both her art and her kindness. Moos is not just your average teacher; she does a lot of work and creating. Her free time is spent “going to museums and working on her hobbies”. One of the hobbies that Moos does in her free time is making children’s capes and other superhero items that are available for sale on her Esty shop, ApplesauceLLC. The best thing about Moos’s Etsy shop is that her own children model the items she makes. Moos’s side business has been making out well with a total of 6,327 sales!

The best quality about Moos is that she is passionate about helping her students grow. She says her favorite thing about teaching is “Watching students be creative and pushing them to make things that they are proud of.” Since the courses she teaches at Pennridge are mainly all electives that students can choose from, most of the students she teaches are very passionate about art. The classes she teaches are courses where students can express themselves creatively.  A student Moos had all throughout high school is Elizabeth Fronstin. Elizabeth loves Moos as a teacher, “her room is a great environment to be in, and Moos is very nice and friendly”. Moos is a great example of a woman who was made to be a teacher. Her classroom always has that warm and happy feeling. Moos is the type of teacher who makes you excited to come to school and she always goes above and beyond for her students.

Mrs. Moss, alongside Pennridge Students, helped add more flowers to the ” Ten Thousand Flowers Project”. Pennridge is responsible for flowers 188 – 244. (Bri Godwin)

The biggest thing that Moos has done for the school is create the two major murals Pennridge has. They include the “Ten Thousand Flowers Project” and the Instrument music hall across from the auditorium. The flowers are a part of a nationwide project. Pennridge is responsible for flowers 188 – 244. Moos, alongside her club members, helped paint each of these murals. Moos has contributed so much to the Pennridge community.
