What to Watch This Summer
The summertime is a perfect season to have fun in the sun. What else is it a good time to do? Catch up on all your reality shows! Finding the right entertainment can get you through a rainstorm or a heatwave. When it comes to choosing what to watch, options can seem endless and overwhelming. To help those rainy days, your going to need some show recommendations. Here we compiled a list of the best shows to watch, in our opinion, while keeping you in a summertime mood.
To begin, I love watching Survivor during the summer. It takes place on an island, so naturally, it will keep you in a summer mood. This show will also keep you interested and entertained. It will keep you thinking, and you won’t be mindlessly watching tv. I recommend watching seasons 28, 34, or 7 to start. Then you can move on to seasons like 20 and 16, which have returning players.
Another show that you could watch during the summer is Big Brother. They are on season 24, and it will most likely be premiering in mid-June. Big Brother is an excellent show to watch in the summer because it takes place in June, July, and August. This show is similar to the premise of Survivor, but instead of being in the jungle, they live in a big house. You will not have a shortage of episodes to watch because you will be getting three shows per week.
Also coming out in the middle of June is Love Island. In this show, a group of singles all come to a villa in Los Angeles and try to find a relationship. This show will make you want to go on a vacation. If you like Love Island, you definitely would love Bachelor in Paradise. In my opinion, this is the best version of the Bachelor franchise. It’s the same as Love Island, but it takes all your favorites from different seasons of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette before it.
You may wonder why we suggest staying inside to binge-watch shows instead of going outside this summer. This is not the point we are trying to make. Not every day of your summer vacation will be a beautiful day that you can send out by the pool. In their article, “Summer Weather 2022: A Scorching, Stormy Start,” the Almanac predicts that we will have some rain at the beginning of the season. The Almanac then stated, “As for the rest of summer, the United States is in for another season of high heat. On average, we’re predicting summer temperatures to be hotter than normal across most of the country…” So if you think last year was hot, you are in for a treat this summer. Don’t let the weather stop your fun this summer! If it is raining and your fun day plans have been postponed, invite your friends over for a fun night in! Have everyone bring their favorite drink and snacks so you can all binge watch some ‘summer-y’ reality TV. Not raining? Have an outdoor viewing party! It also does not have to be unbearable weather to enjoy your shows. It is always good to take breaks from the sun, hydrate, and relax in the air conditioning after being outside.
Avoid heat exhaustion or rainy-day sadness this summer by binging a new show! Although Survivor is our favorite, definitely check out as many shows as you can before the summer ends! Binge-watching a good show is a relaxing option, whether with some friends or alone after a long day. Stay cool in the heatwaves, dry on the rainy days, and happy watching!
