FRESHMAN BOYS BASKETBALL/ COACH BEHRENS:
There will be an informational meeting for any freshman boy interested in playing freshman basketball this year. The meeting will take place TOMORROW, October 16th, at 7:15 AM (Rams time) in the Green Gym lobby. Any freshman boy who is interested in playing basketball should attend.
GIRLS SOFTBALL/COACH MARINELLI:
Any girls interested in trying out for the softball program this upcoming Spring that were unable to attend the meeting on October 10th, please see Coach Marinelli in Room 111 to receive a Winter Workout schedule and have any questions answered. We will begin workouts on Tuesday, December 3rd after school from 2:30-4 in the Green Gym. Please stop by to receive this information!
AFTER SCHOOL INSTRUCTIONAL SUPPORT:
There will be After School Instructional Support TODAY, October 15th, and Thursday, October 17th. Please check the flyer in your classrooms for subjects and room numbers.
GUIDANCE DEPARTMENT:
Students, parents, and guardians are invited to attend our College Admissions and Selection Seminar on Thursday, October 24th, at 6:30 PM. In addition to providing information on the college application process, we will have a panel of admissions counselors available to educate everyone on the unique characteristics of the community college, state universities, and private colleges, as well as answer questions. The seminar will take place in LGI 3.3.
All students 16 and older: On Wednesday, November 6th, at 7:45 AM, students will have the opportunity to take the ASVAB Career Exploration Assessment. The ASVAB is the military entrance exam but is also an excellent tool for students with no interest in the military to identify strengths, interests, and vocational or career prospects. If you are interested, please register through the link on your House of Canvas page. The deadline to register is Monday, October 28th, or until the maximum seating of thirty students is met.
COLLEGE & CAREER CENTER:
We have a number of college visits scheduled this month. Some of those visiting are Penn State, Ursinus, Messiah, University of Connecticut, Quinnipiac, and University of Scranton. Bucks County Community College will be hosting a College Fair at their Newtown Campus TOMORROW, Wednesday, October 16th, from 6:30 – 8:00 PM. This event is free and open to all high school students.
Faith Christian Academy in Quakertown will be hosting a Christian College Fair on Thursday, October 17th, from 6 – 8 PM. The fair is free and open to the public.
Bucks County Community College will be hosting an Open House at their Newtown Campus on Saturday, October 19th, from 11 AM – 1 PM. Registration information is available in the College & Career Center, room 307.
Attention Seniors Interested in applying to Kutztown University: Kutztown University will be offering an “Instant Decision Day” at Pennridge on Monday, November 11th. Interested students must register to participate and submit their application to Kutztown by November 7th. Registration information can be found on CANVAS.
FELLOWSHIP OF CHRISTIAN ATHLETES (FCA)/ MR. ORLANDO:
Fellowship of Christian Athletes will be meeting TOMORROW, October 16th, for a time of fellowship. Come on out for a short Bible study and a time in prayer to start your day off right. We will be meeting in room 100 from 7:00 AM to 7:40 AM during RAMS time. You do not need to be an athlete or Christian to attend. All are welcome. See you there!
GERMAN CLUB/ MRS. GOODRICH:
Attention German Club members, students who take German, and friends who are interested in joining our fun group: We will be having our first get together TODAY, October 15th, to celebrate Oktoberfest. We will be meeting in room 242 (Frau Goodrich’s room) from 2:20-3:45 PM. We will enjoy learning about the REAL Oktoberfest. There will be competitions such as Steinhalten and “Archery” (Almost like the real Oktoberfest!!). Please bring an Oktoberfest snack to share (whether store bought or homemade), bring your own drink, grab a friend, and join us for a good time. Reach out to Frau Goodrich if you have any questions.
PENNRIDGE ASIAN CULTURE CLUB/ MRS. RUSSELL:
Attention all spice lovers! Pennridge Asian Culture Club will be hosting a SPICY RAMEN CHALLENGE and TRIVIA game TODAY, October 15th. The meeting will be held after school at 2:30 PM in food prep room 379. We will have other snacks available if you’re not interested in participating in the challenge. The winner of our trivia will win a special prize! ALL are welcome – We hope to see you there!
SOCK-TOBER SOCK DRIVE:
Throughout the month of October, we are teaming up with “Socks for the Streets” and “The Giving Tree” to distribute socks to people suffering homelessness in Bucks & Montgomery Counties. Please drop off your NEW adult-sized socks in the main office.
