GUIDANCE DEPARTMENT:
Students, parents, and guardians are invited to attend our College Admissions and Selection Seminar TODAY, October 24th, at 6:30 PM. In addition to providing information on the college application process, we will have a panel of admissions counselors available to educate everyone on the unique characteristics of the community college, state universities, and private colleges, as well as answer questions. The seminar will take place in LGI 3.3.
All students 16 and older: On Wednesday, November 6th, at 7:45 AM, students will have the opportunity to take the ASVAB Career Exploration Assessment. The ASVAB is the military entrance exam but is also an excellent tool for students with no interest in the military to identify strengths, interests, and vocational or career prospects. If you are interested, please register through the link on your ‘Class of ‘CANVAS page. The deadline to register is Monday, October 28th, or until the maximum seating of thirty students is met.
COLLEGE & CAREER CENTER:
There are several college visits scheduled in the next few weeks. Some of those visiting are University of Connecticut, Haverford College, Commonwealth University, University of Utah, and Quinnipiac. The full list and registration information can be found on Naviance. College visits are winding down for the fall season. We encourage you to take advantage of these opportunities.
Attention Seniors Interested in applying to Kutztown University: Kutztown University will be offering an “Instant Decision Day” at Pennridge on Monday, November 11th. Interested students must register to participate and submit their application to Kutztown by November 7th. Registration information can be found on CANVAS.
BAND/ MR. HALL:
Congratulations to the Marching Rams on placing first in this past weekend’s Nazareth Soundfest competition. The group scored 89.1 points and received the high caption awards for both percussion and auxiliary. The band will compete again at Hatboro-Horsham this Saturday, October 26th, at 6 PM. Best of luck!
Auditions for jazz ensemble and concert jazz band will be held the week of Monday, November 4th, after school from 2:30 – 4:30 PM. Please see Mr. Hall for details and the audition music.
For any student interested in joining indoor color guard, there will be an information meeting on Tuesday, October 29th, at 7 PM in the band room.
GIRLS FOR STEM/ MRS. BRITTAIN:
Are you a girl interested in STEM? Do you need volunteer hours? Then come join Girls for STEM for their first meeting after school TODAY, October 24th, in room 316. This club will allow girls to find others with similar interests, get volunteer hours, and learn more about what it means to be involved in STEM as a woman! We will get to know everyone, have some snacks, and discuss plans for volunteering. Feel free to stop by at any point!
LEGAL CAREER/ MS. MACNAIR:
TOMORROW, October 25th, at 8:15 AM, Judge Gary Gambardella will be speaking to students at Pennridge High School. Judge Gambardella will discuss his career with the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office and his role and responsibilities as a judge in Bucks County. If you are interested in a legal career or a career in law enforcement and would like to attend the presentation, please see Ms. MacNair in Room 109. Space is limited for this presentation.
SKI & SNOWBOARD/ MR. COUSINEAU:
Ski and Snowboard advisors will be at lunch TODAY, October 24th, and TOMORROW, October 25th, to speak to students about signing up for any of the upcoming trips to Blue Mtn, Vermont, and Canadian Rockies.
SOCK-TOBER SOCK DRIVE:
Throughout the month of October, we are teaming up with “Socks for the Streets” and “The Giving Tree” to distribute socks to people suffering homelessness in Bucks & Montgomery Counties. Please drop off your NEW adult-sized socks in the main office.
