BOYS BASKETBALL/ COACH BEHRENS:
Any boy in 10th, 11th, or 12th grade interested in trying out for the boys’ basketball team – tryouts will be held on November 15th and 16th. One must have a completed physical to tryout. If you have any questions, you can stop by the House of 2028 to speak with Coach Behrens.
GIRLS INDOOR TRACK/ COACH SMITH:
There will be an informational meeting for Girls Indoor Track in the Audion TOMORROW, October 31st, from 2:30 – 3 PM with Coach Smith.
SWIMMING AND DIVING/ COACH ANSELMO:
Anyone who missed the initial info meeting for the swimming and diving team should stop by the athletic office to sign up and pick up the schedule for the season. PICTURE RETAKES:
Picture Retake Day is Thursday, November 7th. If students received a package of their original photos, they should bring them to return when their picture is retaken.
COLLEGE & CAREER CENTER:
Attention Seniors Interested in Applying to Kutztown University: Kutztown University will be offering an “Instant Decision Day” at Pennridge on Monday, November 11th. Interested students must register to participate and submit their application to Kutztown by November 7th. Registration information can be found on CANVAS.
Our Marine Recruiter will be in the cafeteria during lunches on Wednesday, November 6th, to answer questions students have about this branch of the military.
Commonwealth University which includes Bloomsburg, Lock Haven, and Mansfield will be visiting next week. We will also host admissions counselors from Drew University, University of Utah, Quinnipiac, and University of New Hampshire. We encourage students to take advantage of these opportunities to learn about these colleges. Please register on Naviance or see Mrs. Lewis in the College & Career Center, room 307.
SAT/ MR. GOMBAR:
Pennridge will host the SAT on Saturday, November 2nd. Doors will open at 7:45 AM. The test will start sharply at 8:00 AM. Please be prompt. Late students will not be admitted. Students should enter at the main entrance on the third floor. Students must bring their photo ID, admission ticket, two #2 pencils, and a fully charged laptop. An approved calculator is optional. All cell phones and wearable technology will be collected prior to the test. We encourage test takers to leave these items in their cars. Room assignments will be posted outside the College & Career Center, the 11th and 12th Grade Offices, the Main Office, and the main entryway doors.
IMPORTANT: Please test your Bluebook app located on your laptop by opening it. If it fails to open or you have any other issues with it, please stop by room 302 so a tech can help you. Please test the application by TODAY, October 30th, so you can verify your computer readiness.
MARCHING RAMS/JAZZ/INDOOR PERCUSSION/ MR. HALL:
Congratulations to the Marching Rams for an outstanding performance at this past Saturday’s “Tip of the Hat” competition. The band received a score of 90.1 and earned the distinction of “High Music Effect.” This Saturday, the band will travel to Dallastown High School for the Cavalcade of Bands Championship competition. If you’d like to see the group off, there will be a friends and family performance at 7:00 PM this Friday, November 1st, at Hellman Field.
Auditions for jazz ensemble and concert jazz band will be held the week of Monday, November 4th, after school from 2:30-4:30 PM. Please see Mr. Hall for details and the audition music.
For any student interested in joining Indoor Percussion, there will be an interest meeting on Monday, November 4th, at 7:00 PM in the band room. This meeting is open to students and their families.
RED CROSS CLUB/ DR. MOYER:
The Red Cross Club will be selling Halloween candy-grams during RAMS in room 345 and during all lunches TODAY, October 30th. Candy-grams will be delivered to your recipient on Halloween morning to their Block 1 class. All proceeds will benefit the American Red Cross relief efforts from hurricanes Helene and Milton. Send one to your favorite friend or fiend… together we can make a difference!
SADD/ MRS. RISSMILLER:
Hey Pennridge! This week is officially Red Ribbon Week. The Red Ribbon Campaign was started when drug traffickers in Mexico City murdered DEA agent Kiki Camarena in 1985. This began the continuing tradition of displaying Red Ribbons as a symbol of intolerance towards the use of drugs. The mission of the Red Ribbon Campaign is to present a unified and visible commitment towards the creation of a DRUG – FREE AMERICA. Please proudly wear red with one of our red ribbon stickers on Friday. Take a Stand Pennridge for a Drug Free Land.
SOCK-TOBER SOCK DRIVE:
Throughout the month of October, we are teaming up with “Socks for the Streets” and “The Giving Tree” to distribute socks to people suffering homelessness in Bucks & Montgomery Counties. Please drop off your NEW adult-sized socks in the main office by TOMORROW, October 31st!
