The Pennridge Hockey Team is looking to repeat the success of the 2023-2024 season with a fierce team ready to try their hardest. With the 2024-2025 season beginning, there are very high expectations for the team after the previous team had won the Flyers Cup and State Championship. Some of the key players for this season include goalies Andrew Slutsky (#35) and Jacob Winton (#16), defensemen Ryan Burke (#2), Justin Dinsmore (#21), and Nate McKean (#92), and forwards Shane Dachowski (#22), Salvatore Daquino (#73) and Landan Bishop (#26). The team is also quite active on social media, having an Instagram account that often posts about player highlights and updates and a Facebook account that primarily posts about upcoming news and events.
The hockey team recently had a game on Wednesday, Jan. 15, where two of the players had great things to say about their current performance. One of the players, Josh Kelly, said that their team’s biggest goal for the season is to “compete for a back-to-back state championship.” Another one of the players, Jared Garber, said that “everyone plays a leader role on the team,” in response to asking who leads them. Garber had also said that he enjoys the student section and fans, saying that “they bring energy to the games.” In addition, when asked the question about what they will do after having lost a lot of talented players from the previous season, Garber had said that a lot of the players have really stepped up since last year and replaced those who had made an impact, saying that they have filled the roles especially well.
Some of their main rivals are Central Bucks and Pennsbury, according to outside sources. However, according to Kelly, one of their biggest rivalries this season will be with Council Rock South. When Garber was asked about how the team supports each other during tough times in the games, he said “we always have each other’s backs.” Overall, the Pennridge Hockey Team seems to be a very well-knit group of players, all with the goal of living up to their prior success and doing the best that they can, even against strong opponents, which Garber had to say that when playing against them, “We just play to our strengths.”
