Behind the Scenes of the Daily Ramble

Aubrey Piacine, Student Writer

There is a lot more that goes into the daily ramble, than just a simple show of morning announcements. When signing up to take this class, students need to be prepared to work at a fast pace, producing content to entertain not only the high school, but the entirety of the school district. Students who have a passion for videography and love the feeling of being on set, take this class to help them grow in this environment. This year, Mr. Friedman, the Media Production teacher, is trying to implement a few changes from prior years to up the ante.

In an interview with Mr. Friedman, he explained what really goes on behind the scenes of filming each day. Each student needs to come prepared to class with the lines they have studied given beforehand. All of the announcements given to the students are written by the main office, then handed over to the class to be made into a camera schedule. “Communication has to be consistent,” according to Friedman this is the most important aspect and what keeps the show running. This needs to happen to fulfill their main goal which is to publish new content each week. For this years show, they are trying to give a more professional, and productive feel by dressing the part, and creating segments to amuse the audience.

You may wonder exactly how they get started every year, and Matt Tomeo, student in Media Production has some answers. “A lot of work was put into the ramble to get started, we made various advertisements around the school as well as online to spread the word around Pennridge.” The students in this class seem to all take much pride in the work and content they are creating each week. When they are not working on the show, they are filming features, intros and working on their polished products. It may seem like just a daily routine of watching our morning announcements, but behind the scenes these students are working hard to entertain the rest of the community here at Pennridge.
