How Libraries are dealing with Covid

The biggest topic in our country for a while has been Covid-19. People are restricted to what they’re able to do and who they can see. This has affected a lot of small businesses, and even put them out of business. The Bucks County Libraries are currently open to limited capacity for safety reasons. They have been able to make do unlike some places.

With Bucks County Libraries being open, they have to follow many restrictions to keep everyone in our community safe. Everyone that enters has to wear a mask and all seats are placed six feet apart to promote social distancing. With these restrictions being enforced, the library is still able to provide access to all of their books. They also have a pickup station if people are uncomfortable with coming in the store physically. So unlike other businesses, the libraries have been able to keep up with their business pretty well.

There are three ways people can frequent library.  Some just go in and it doesn’t bother them, some pickup, and others don’t bother risking it at all and just stay home. Kayla Archibascio said “I would go to the library because I am not bothered by the germs in the books I might get.”. There is nothing wrong with this at all as long as they all follow the proper guidelines that are put out for the safety of the community. Then there are people like Sandra that said “I would rather just stay home and not risk getting the virus and read the books that I already have.”. This is the safest way to go but not everyone has the mindset to do so. A lot of people are tired of being restricted from their daily activities.

With the Libraries being open to this extent, they are able to be close enough to normal that Covid doesn’t really affect them anymore. The only thing that is different is how people decide obtain materials. Some still aren’t comfortable coming, most have just put Covid aside.
