Boredom.  It can really get to us in a time like this where we are all stuck inside our homes.  In this article I will list a couple of my favorite games that my friends and I have been playing every night of quarantine to keep us occupied.  We play on Playstation 4, but all of these games are available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.  Some are available on other systems such as Nintendo Switch.  Some of these games are older, but we have found a new love for these games during this time.

Coming up first is Minecraft.  Everyone knows about Minecraft, the game where you can build whatever you want.  This game is great with friends because you can play survival mode and try to survive together.  My friends and I made a survival world and a lot of it was ocean, so we travelled using boats a lot.  We set up houses in the desert and built farms.  It was a lot of fun.  Another mode in Minecraft is creative mode.  We also have a creative world, where we build much larger projects.  We made a treehouse village in the jungle, we built our take on the castle Winterfell from Game of Thrones, and we even built Lincoln Financial Field where the Philadelphia Eagles play.  This game is so fun, and you completely lose track of time when you have a good idea of something you want to build.

Another game we’ve been playing a lot is Rocket League.  I wrote a blog post about this game and its new mode, but basically you are a car and there is a giant soccer ball.  You have to try to score by driving your car into the ball.  This game is great because it is cross platform compatible.  This means that PS4 can play with Xbox and PC.  This is great because it allows us to include two of my friends who play on PC.  We play against each other in private matches, and it is a lot of fun.

The last game I am going to talk about is Call of Duty Black Ops 3.  You might be wondering, why BO3? 3 COD games have come out since this one’s release, why are you still playing it? I’ll tell you why.  This game has some of the best custom game options in my opinion.  My friends and I will play custom game lobbies for hours at night.  It has game modes like Prop Hunt, Sticks and Stones, and Infected.  It also has a lot of classic maps.  All of my friends have it, so we always go back to it and play it.  Also, this game has one of the best zombie modes of any Call of Duty game.  Even though it was released in 2015, they added the Zombies Chronicles DLC in 2017, which was 8 remastered maps from older COD Zombies modes.  This is a great way to pass time with 3 other friends, as a game of zombies only goes up to 4 players.

To conclude, all of these games are a lot of fun and you can get all of them on the PS4 store for less than 30 dollars each.  They are great games to get you and your friends together.  Some games you will work together and become better friends, and some you will be put against each other and friendships will be broken. (Not really, but friendly competition can be awesome.)
