Skills for Success

Over the past two months I have had the pleasure of exploring different aspects of traveling for my Journalism beat. Unfortunately, this will be my last article published. Throughout my four years at Pennridge High School, I have never had a class quiet like Journalism. That’s why I would like to use this final article to share the importance of taking Journalism, and what I have learned.

At first, I was very nervous about taking this course. I didn’t think that I was creative enough to write short pieces that have a meaningful take away. I’m so used to writing research papers, and thesis essays on books that we read in class. However, I’m so glad that I took this class. Journalism really pushed me out of my comfort zone and showed me that I am completely capable of writing anything if I put my mind to it. Journalism has taught me so much like how to format my articles, how to be objective, and how to be credible. Lastly, I learned how to conduct a formal interview. I truly think that this is an important skill that all students should learn. Now, If I ever have to conduct an interview in the future I have all the tools I need to be successful.
