Astrology is a pseudoscience that claims information based on human affairs and terrestrial events by studying the movements of celestial objects. In other words, your personality is based upon the position of stars and moons that correlate to your times of birth. Now, this might sound very weird and unrealistic, but that’s because it is. Some people seriously believe in this and do reading on people to determine their horoscopes. We got the opportunity to talk to Samantha from Psychic & Astrology Reading in Allentown. She told us she developed this skill when she was younger and decided to turn it into a business later on. Samantha says she will do readings and charges upwards of $75.00. One of her services is a Love Tarot Reading, which says she will look solely into your love life and see what life has in store for you. She says it is suitable for people in a relationship or people looking for “the one”. This service costs $55.00, and this is the cheapest service. Aside from the services, we asked some questions regarding the practicality of her readings and beliefs. Samantha says people who don’t believe in astrology are “close-minded,”. She also mentioned that most people do readings through online horoscopes. She said these were “inaccurate, and in-person readings are a lot better because you are able to read their energy.”

Many people don’t believe in astrology, so we decided to get some quotes from non-believers. We asked Asher Newman-Burrows whether or not he has tried any online horoscopes or readings. He said, “People have in the past shown me tabloid horoscopes and the only thing I’ve been able to deduce from them is that the predictions are all relative and could be easily applied to pretty much any human on the planet.” This is the main issue with astrology, anybody could be any personality; it has nothing to do with the stars or signs. It changes with the environment around them. Asher does not like people who make astrology their own personality as they dictate their lives based on these invalid facts. After disclosing this information, The hope is people can see how this makes zero sense. Astrology is just a scientific belief backed with no evidence to support itself and has no significant association with reality and people’s personalities.
