With the winter sports season coming to a close, the boy’s basketball team at Pennridge is starting to wrap up with Senior Night. The Class of 2023 Seniors played their last home game against Central Bucks West on Feb. 3. The game ended with a score of 55-50 in favor of Pennridge.
The 2023 Seniors include Caden Fisher, Jake Buesing, Gannon Perlini, Matt Campione, Tommy Cramer, and Ryan Hass. These six have gone through a lot together. “They played together since they were young,” Head Coach Dean Behrens says, “since 10 or 11 years old. Seniors Buesing, Perlini, Campione, Cramer, and Hass started the Senior Night game. Campione led the team with 18 points, followed by Cramer with 17 points, and Buesing and Fisher both scored four points. Behrens recalls how they have grown as a team over the past couple of years, “It’s a neat development seeing all the six boys becoming men.” he said. “I feel confident in their futures.” All of the seniors have been accepted into colleges, most planning on continuing their basketball careers on a collegiate level.
The Pennridge Basketball team has a 14-7 record and is 3rd in the Suburban One Continental Conference. The team has three home games left that will dictate whether or not they make the playoffs. “The goal is to not let that be the last home game,” Cramer says. Until then, all they can do is practice. “They can’t rest on what they’ve done; they need to finish it out,” Behrens says.
