At Pennridge High School, students say comfort-driven fashion and popular athleisure brands continue to shape what they wear to school and notice in the media. Several brands like Alo Yoga have been on the rise as of 2025. “What’s in” is constantly changing, and there has been a pattern of different athletic brands gaining immense amounts of popularity after seeing them worn in the media.
Junior, Emma Rock, says her daily outfits focus on ease and simplicity. “Whatever is comfortable and isn’t very grungy,” she said, noting that she avoids the full sweatsuit “groufit” looks. While she sometimes dresses in trendier pieces, Rock says her style varies. “It depends on the day and the outfit.” Rock also observes a consistent aesthetic in public spaces. “I see a lot of people with the clean girl aesthetic,” she said. “I see a lot of Lululemon and Uggs in particular.” She added that low and mid-rise jeans are one of her current favorite trends. “Whenever I see them on people, I think they look good,” she said.
Senior Daisy Vasquez typically opts for a mix of comfort and style. “I usually wear a cute sweater and jeans,” she said. During the colder months, she relies on a staple. “I wear my Uggs almost every day in the winter because they go with everything and are super comfortable.” Vasquez also uses fashion as a form of self-expression. “It can show someone what I’m like without having to talk to them,” she explained. Wearing clothing with her favorite artists allows others to “know the music I listen to without knowing me personally. She also noticed the ongoing popularity of athletic wear brands like Lululemon and Alo Yoga.
Senior Kaitlyn Scholl said her daily school outfits are usually centered on comfort. “I usually wear leggings or sweatpants and a hoodie,” she said. When she wants a more polished look, she chooses jeans and a nice top. Scholl considers her style fairly aligned with current trends. “I wear a lot of Brandy and Lululemon,” she said. She also frequently sees “Parke hoodies, Lululemon, and Brandy” worn by others. One trend she especially appreciates is slicked-back hairstyles, which she describes as practical and stylish.
Across the student interviews, widely worn brands, relaxed silhouettes, and easy everyday staples appear to define the current fashion climate at Pennridge. While individual preferences vary, students largely agree that comfort and versatility remain at the forefront of their choices.
