Amazon is a popular place to purchase things such as electronics and household items. Recently it has been a more popular place to shop for things like clothing items and accessories like jewelry and sunglasses. Amazon sells almost everything you can think of, and combined with their quick shipping and delivery services, some people find that hard to beat.

Many social media influencers, like TikTok’s Darcy McQueeny, preach Amazon for their products and services. McQueeny uses her platform to promote her “Amazon Storefront”, where viewers can click on a link that shows all of her hand-picked favorite things to purchase on Amazon. Many of which include clothing “dupes” for more expensive brands, makeup, skincare products, hair products, and jewelry.

Evelyn Loughery, a sophomore at Liberty University, finds herself going on Amazon for similar reasons. Having most recently purchased a t-shirt and sunglasses, Loughery was not disappointed. She further elaborated, saying, “TikTok influences me a lot with my purchases from Amazon. That’s why I bought the sunglasses and t-shirt”. Similarly, Isabelle Lee, a freshman at High Point University, recently purchased some clothes and jewelry saying she likes to utilize what Amazon has to offer because “it’s cheap and comes quickly. It also has a variety of options.”

It does not stop with clothing, accessories, and beauty products. Amazon has expanded and opened up “Amazon Fresh” grocery stores across the country. Founded in 2007, it is a subsidiary of the actual company of Amazon itself. The original Amazon, nonetheless, does sell many food and drink products on the online website. To some people, like Loughery, the purchasable food offered by the company is not a necessity. When asked if she has ever purchased food products from Amazon, she stated, “never food, just fashion.”

In some cases, the quality of the fashion products sold on Amazon’s site can be questioned by the consumers. In order to avoid that, the company allows members that have their own personal Amazon accounts to leave reviews on anything purchased by the member. In these reviews, photos can also be uploaded so that another person who is considering buying the product can see what other customers received before it’s delivered to their front door.

Amazon, considered one of the world’s most valuable brands, is used by hundreds of millions of people around the globe. Their fashion offerings are on the rise and are one of the hot topics on social media, shown by influencers like Darcy McQueeny on Instagram and TikTok. As long as its users are well educated on all the things Amazon has to offer, by reading reviews on the products they are interested in, the rise of fashion offered on Amazon will continue and could possibly be the new go-to place for inexpensive, good quality, and a fast way to get your clothes.
