The Pennridge Football Team wouldn’t end the 2025 season without a fight. Last Friday, amidst a packed Helmen Field, Pennridge played a high-pressure game against North Penn and lost 14-21. North Penn secured an early lead of 14-0 in the first quarter, and Pennridge fought hard to catch up. Pennridge scored late in the fourth quarter, making it a one-score game, but they weren’t able to pull the game into overtime. Pennridge’s spirits were low as the time ran out, and North Penn took the victory. It was hard for them to end the best full season they have experienced in the past 15 years. The atmosphere was in high contrast to the rest of the season as they were number one in their conference and ended with the final record of 12-2.
Though the season abruptly ended, Pennridge deserves to celebrate the strides the community has made in its spirit. Head coach Kyle Beller said, “The community loves their sports – It’s a great feeling to see the stands packed.” Beller also attested to the players’ feelings about the community’s spirit, saying, “It’s awesome to be a part of it.” The players on the team have found a strong sense of camaraderie this season. William Dougherty, number 6 on the Pennridge Football Team, said, “We’ve all been playing football with each other since we were young. It’s hard sometimes, but it’s worth it when we’re all together.”
The Pennridge community desperately needed something to rally behind, and the football team provided that this season. Aiden Bound, a member of the Pennridge Marching Band, said,” I love it, it’s fun cheering them on with my friends.” Nikolas Grande, a Pennridge High School student, explained his experience supporting football throughout the season: “It feels great, we’re the number one team.”
Though the season ended with a disappointing outcome, the Rams can ensure that the energy of those Friday night games will continue stronger than before. Pennridge can also still look forward to the annual Thanksgiving Day game against Quakertown at Helmen Field. Pennridge is favored, and they will certainly try as hard as they can to finish with a win.
