The Ram is one of the newest additions to Pennridge’s community and the newest competitor to The Perk. The Ram opened at the end of 2020, and The Perk has been around since 1854. The Perk always has a wait to get seated, proving it is a popular choice for many when it comes to where to eat. The Ram has proved itself to also be a popular choice these last few weeks, as they have just recently opened for indoor seating. The Ram is reserved only for dinner time, and reservations seem to fill up pretty quickly. However, during lunch hours, seating is available as you walk in. They both have a very welcoming feel and fit well into the Pennridge community.

The Perk has been a staple restaurant for many years to the Pennridge community. The staff is friendly and is always welcoming. Brandon Chambers, an employee at the Perk, states that “The Perk represents the community by supporting local sports teams and fundraisers.” The fundraisers that The Perk has are always to benefit the community, and it attracts more customers as well. Many of the Pennridge sports teams and clubs can count on The Perk to help them fundraise. The cost of the food is reasonable, and you get a good amount of food. The menu has many options ranging from burgers to cheesesteaks to pizza, and the list goes on. The atmosphere of The Perk fits the customers it is trying to attract as well. Overall, The Perk fits the Pennridge community well and is a place you can always count on for a good bite to eat.

The Ram, as previously stated, is one of the newest restaurant additions to our community, located right in the center of Perkasie. Emma Schlotter, an employee at the Ram, states that “It was a positive addition to the community because it is something that reflects back to its community starting with its name ‘The Ram’ that represents the Pennridge Rams. I feel like that definitely is a positive since it ties in the school with the surrounding community.” The name definitely helps attract many customers from the Pennridge community. Emma also made a good point stating that, “The Ram also airs a lot of the sporting events on PennridgeTv on Youtube. This is especially important right now because families can’t go watch their sons or daughters play in person, but they can watch it live while enjoying good food and drinks.” This makes game days very busy at The Ram. The cost of the food is reasonable, and a good price for the amount of food you get. It seems like the menu maybe a little smaller than The Perk. That seems to be the case because they are a newer restaurant and still trying to see what works, but they still have a variety of things to choose from on the menu. The Ram gives a very modern and warm greeting when you walk in and has delicious food and drinks to choose from.

Overall The Ram and The Perk are both great options to choose from when it comes to where to go to eat, Maddie Pollock, a customer at both, states that “The home town feel and positive energy of them both makes them the places to go on the weekend or after a game.” You can’t go wrong with either one when you’re in need of a good bite to eat and a nice night out.
