Re:new Bible Church Christmas Service 2021

As the holidays are nearing, it may be challenging for many families who are grieving the loss of family or hurt in their way. This holiday season, Re:new Bible church is giving back to those in need in various ways. With the partnership of their outreach center, Re:vivals, they collect food and provide service to those in need every Tuesday, year-round. The holidays are essential for the people at Re:new Bible Church, and being involved during the holidays is of the most significant importance to the church.

Re:new Bible Church started as First Baptist Church of Perkasie in 1898, and after 125 years, decided to change the name to Re:new Bible Church as a response to what God has done for the families and the church through Re:vivals community outreach center. The staff at Re:vivals work year-round, helping those in need. Every Tuesday, Re:vivals hosts a soup kitchen where they provide meals to the community at no cost and have extra dinners occurring due to the holiday season approaching. With your donation of food drives, over 200 meals are served to those in need each week.

The holidays can be challenging for many, and a major aspect of Re:vivals is the counseling center, a ministry within the outreach center. The counseling center consists of those who need not only mentorship but also professional help as well. While many are grieving the loss of family, or overall the holidays are tough, plenty of people are there to help you. Kids church, affiliated with Re:new Bible, gives by making Christmas cards for families. “We spend their Sundays singing, learning more about the Bible, and people who deserve extra cheer during the holidays,” Finley Mazlo stated.

This holiday season, the church is working hard collecting hams and turkeys to distribute to families. Shannon Vawter, a youth leader who has been involved with Re:new Bible church for over ten years, plans to give back this holiday season. From her viewpoint, Vawter says, “We like to participate in Operation Christmas Child, where you send a gift in a shoebox to a child in need around the world. We normally prepare around one to two boxes for that organization per year. We also sponsor two children through Compassion International, an organization that supports the children and families that live in poverty.” Children and families worldwide find healing this time of year because of people like Vawter, who are involved in so much to give back. Everyone this time of year needs some encouragement, even if it is not apparent. To spread more cheer and motivation, the Vawters go and carol for the people around them.

The holidays are supposed to be a special time of year for all. With the help of Re:new Bible Church, their partnership with Re:vivals community outreach center, and their giving this holiday season, smiles will cross many faces. With involvement in times like these, children and families get to have meals, treats, needs, and Christmas cheer.
